Cabinetry Plus: Central Dust Collector Installation
Using IVEC Steward, the system starts and stops automatically, guaranteeing ventilation at the wood devices, maintaining capacity at every drop, and saving energy.
The Challenge
Cabinetry Plus is a Midwest manufacturer of wood cabinets. The wood shop had three dust collectors that were noncompliant units located in the interior of the building. The three separate systems were loud, decentralized, difficult to maintain and unable to deliver the correct CFM and velocity capacity.
The Solution
An IVEC Steward control system and a Belfab central dust collector for wood dust was installed and ducted in compliance with all regulations. The Steward control system starts the dust collector blower automatically, opens and closes gates at the various processes, and delivers the correct CFM. IVEC Steward continues to monitor the duct velocities in real time. With the IVEC Steward system installed, the system starts and stops automatically, guaranteeing ventilation at the wood devices, maintaining capacity at every drop and saving energy.
The Results
- Increased capacity
- Guaranteed velocities through duct monitoring
- Energy savings
- Longer filter life
- Collector in central exterior location for ease of maintenance
- Reduced noise & maintenance
